FRIDAY, September 17
8:00-9:00 a.m. Registration at the Saratoga County Arts Council
9:00-11:30 a.m. The Sporting Life hosted by the Saratoga County Arts Council
  • Panel discussion with Jockeys from the Saratoga Track, moderated by Dick Hamilton of the National Museum of Racing, retired NYRA official

  • Roundtable discussion on Saratoga gaming and the track, moderated by Jay Portnoy
Noon Lunch on your own in one of Saratoga's many eating establishments
2:00-4:00 p.m Spa Culture
Presentations at the Urban Cultural Park with Amy Godine and Bob Joki
5:00 p.m. Dinner hosted by the Princepessa Elena Society
8:00 p.m. Film showing by the Saratoga Film Forum:
"A Walk on the Moon," directed by Tony Goldwyn and set in 1969, the proverbial Summer of Love—the Woodstock Nation meets the Borscht Belt in a bittersweet love story about an affair between a Jewish housewife and a local hunk at a down-at-the-heels Catskills bungalow colony. A charmingly offbeat, independent film. With Diane Lane, Liev Schreiber, and Anna Paquin. Rated R, 106 minutes.


SATURDAY, September 18

9:00 a.m Folklife Walking Tour of Saratoga Springs hosted by the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library
Noon Catered luncheon at Hattie's, a Saratoga institution serving Southern cuisine and fried chicken.

1:00 p.m. African American Spas with Dr. Myra Armstead of Bard College (after lunch, Hattie's)
3:30 p.m. NYFS Annual Meeting (for NYFS Members)
4:30 p.m. NYFS Board Meeting
5:00 p.m. Free time/Dinner on your own
8:00 p.m. A Night at Caffè Lena with Sally Rogers, Bob Franke, and Sandy and Caroline Paton. Supported by Meet the Composer
