Join the Taj Mahal Restaurant, Zaria & Bella’s Gift Shop, and the New York Folklore Society for an evening of fine Indian dining and classical Indian music, in the outside atmosphere of the Jay Street Marketplace!

What You’ll Enjoy: White linen tables with beautifully scented candles, draped lights overhead and lit torches for a summer dining experience. While dining, you will be entertained by live music provided by master Indian artists (and mother-son duo!) Veena Chandra on the sitar and Devesh Chandra on the tabla. Afterwards have the opportunity to shop in the various stores lined up and down the Jay Street Marketplace (discounts provided for those attending the dinner at selected merchants). It promises to be a lively evening!

What is Included: Soup, Choice of one Entrée, and Dessert:

Lentil Soup – Mildly flavored with herbs and Indian spices

Choice of one entree served with basmati rice and tandoori (clay-oven) naan:
Lamb Kadai – Lamb cooked in a blend of herbs, spices, bell peppers and tomatoes
or
Chicken Tikka Masala – Tandoori chicken in tomato and cream sauce
or
Baingan Bartha – Tandoori roasted eggplant delicately spiced
or
Vegetable Biryani – A classic dish of aromatic basmati rice, simmered with deep fried onions, yogurt, ginger, garlic and biryani spices

Dessert: Firni – Rice pudding
