New York Folklore Society Christmas Cards
The New York Folklore Society Christmas Cards are designed by Eniko Farkas, a master folk artist and scholar of Hungarian embroidery, using the elements of Hungarian Matyó style embroidery. Blank inside, the design promotes the message of Christmas simply as “Good will towards all people”. The Christmas Tree could be viewed as the bronze age Tree of Life with flanking animals, a favorite feature in Hungarian folk embroideries. The sun, star, and moon represent all the elements of the cosmos which connect us all.

©1997, 1998
Hungarian Cuisine and Personal Memories dedicated to the authors mother and "to the other Eastern European women who kept the pots boiling under impossible circumstances" is a cookbook and a memoir. It provides detailed recipes for traditional Chicken Paprikash and Hungarian Goulash (The author notes, "Except for politics, there are a few subjects that can as easily incite strong feelings in Hungarians as the subject of the proper kinds of spices and vegetables that go into the goulash."), as well as sour cherry soup, stuffed onions, egg dumplings, veal fricasee, pig feet jelly, puff pastry and strudel recipes, walnut crescents and many more. In addition to the many recipes with gastronomic memories, there are chapters on Christmas and Easter traditions and Bacon Frying Parties.

New York Folklore Society Notecards
The New York Folklore Society notecards are designed by Eniko Farkas, a master folk artist and scholar of Hungarian embroidery, using the elements of the famous Hungarian Kalocsa style embroidery. This style developed from white embroidery in the second part of the nineteenth century. While newer variations use more colors, some people still prefer the Old Kalocsa style for its simplicity. The bird is a typical element of this style, and the image of the bird carrying a letter is a favorite in Hungarian folksongs.
