The New York Folklore Societys first ever
"Meet the
Artist" Gala and Silent Auction to benefit the programs of the New York
Folklore Society, was held Friday, April 5, 2002 at the Schenectady Museum and Science Center on Nott Terrace
Heights, Schenectady.

Catering was provided by "A Taste of Europe" caterers and complimentary
wine was served. The Silent Auction was held for folk art donated by selected New York
State traditional artists.

We were gratified by the outpouring of support from Jay Street merchants who donated door prizes, pleased to see our members and colleagues who came and supported us, and honored by the many traditional artists who performed music or donated artwork for the silent auction.
